In a nationwide poll organised by the Scottish Football Supporters Association – open to fans across the country – the Dons fans received more votes than any other club.
The award was announced on BBC Radio Scotland’s Off the Ball programme.
Gordon Duncan of Dons Supporters Together said: “It’s not news that AFC has a magnificent travelling support but it is great to see it being recognised with this national award.
“The challenges facing travelling Aberdeen fans can be considerable given the geography, the frequency with which AFC’s fixtures are moved for TV coverage and the relatively poor public transport links.
“This makes the award all the more impressive.”
